World Down Syndrome Day, March 21 - 2007/2008
The DSA coordinates a host of programs every year. These programs aim to generate awareness on Down Syndrome to society, provide opportunity for fundraising and encourage members of the DSA and the general public to interact and develop friendships.

Down's Syndrome Day is being held in Nepal for the first time. 21st of March is commemorated as World Down's Syndrome Day because the date matches with the nature of Down's Syndrome. In the case of Down's Syndrome, of the 23 pairs of chromosomes present in a human cell, the extra chromosome formed adds to the 21st pair and thus forms triplicate (trisomy) in this pair. So, 21st March has been taken as a synonym of trisomy. All the Down's activities attribute to this mismatch.

Program Mission.
The mission of the program is to raise awareness of Down's Syndrome and sensitize the society of the measures that could augment better and independent future for these children through extensive use of media and conference.
